Five Wardrobe Pieces to Invest in this Spring

We’re full speed ahead into the blustery winter season here in Wisconsin and if you’re anything like me you’ve been hibernating to keep warm. Perhaps you have even been thinking warm happy thoughts of Spring or a tropical vacation just to keep your sanity while we wait out this cold and less than fun season.

Even if we’re in the middle of Winter, that doesn’t mean we can’t think ahead for Spring!

Before we know it, the snow will be melting, the flowers will be blooming, birds chirping, and the sun shining. Ahhh, serenity! I CAN NOT WAIT!

And if you’re one of the fortunate ones that can take a vacation to a warm tropical place during Spring Break, you’ll want to leverage the latest and greatest trends for this season so that you can be on trend as a fashionista

Now let’s be honest here for a hot second, most of the clothing that’s released in the stores wherwe are aren’t available for us wear until it’s Summer in Wisconsin. Therefore, leverage these trends as much as you can no matter what season you’re in, Spring or Summer.

Don’t you just love being a Midwestern girl sometimes?

Alright, let’s dive into the nitty-gritty of Spring trends and what five pieces of clothing you should definitely have in your closet to be a fashionista this coming Spring.

Bucket Hat

A bucket hat is making a comeback and I’m actually a little bit excited about it. It has a vintage feel to it but with a modern twist in the patterns. Wearing a bucket hat is simple because it goes with everything! It can be worn casually or when you’re all dolled up. It’s versatile enough of a piece to wear and you can add some additional flair with a bold pop of color or spunky pattern.

Cargo Pants

I know, I know…they’re pretty hideous. And who would need that many pockets as a woman? However, word on the street is the NEW design for cargo pants will be less bulky in terms of the weight of the material and more lightweight. Apparently, the newly designed cargo pants will be colorful and be made of silk or velvet. Despite the hideous design from ages ago, they’re making a comeback to be a lightweight and fashionable staple piece of wardrobe. This will be interesting!

Ballet Flats

Ballet flats aren’t really anything new but they’re always on trend. Try branching out by wearing bold pops of color or a patterned flat. Spice things up a bit from the usual black flat. If you don’t already have a pair of ballet flats, they’re a staple in your wardrobe. They can be worn casually with jeans or depending on the design worn when a fancy dress. They’re comfortable and not bulky to wear.

Statement Scarf

A scarf is a lovely accessory and it versatile in any wardrobe. They can be worn in your hair, as a belt, as a vest, shawl, and more. All depends on the size and shape! Look for 1-2 statement scarves this season to mix and match with your wardrobe. Try a bold pop of color and one with a unique design that will stand out.

Color

Ok, this one isn’t super specific like the bucket hat or cargo pants but it’s because this trend has more flexibility. The season’s hottest colors are yellow and orange! Therefore, you can mix and match your wardrobe with various shades of the two colors. A scarf, shoes, shirt, pants, jewelry, or even a handbag can work! The possibilities are abundant here.

I should also note that the pastel colors are what will be the most popular this season. While you can definitely mix and match the boldness of the yellow or orange this season, just know that pastels are where it’s at!

As you can see, the Springs hottest trends are really not much different than what we have seen in the past. The way I see it, it’s more about pastel colors, statement pieces that make a wardrobe pop, and classy elements to provide an overall polished look. Pretty simple in the grand scheme of things for us everyday folk.
